Class Of 2020: Matt Vermaeten

Canisius College of the Atlantic Hockey Conference locked up Rockland Nationals Matt Vermaeten for the fall of 2021 last season, after a successful 2019-20 campaign for speedy forward who’s skating and ability to finish caught the attention of many scouts.

The 5’11”, 175lbs native of Rockliffe (ON) recently finished his 3rd season of CCHL play, having amassed 102 points (47G, 55A) in 149 games played to date. The Nationals Captain, he also participated as a member of Team Canada East at the most recent World Jr. A Challenge, while also was selected to the 2019-20 CCHL All-Star game.

Vermaeten is a graduate of the Ottawa Jr. 67’s AAA program, before moving to the Gloucester Rangers U18 AAA program prior to Rockland.
