As the new reign began in Canton (NY) on the grounds of St. Lawrence University, the new staff identified a desire to ensure they made were in the mix to secure some of Eastern Ontario’s most promising up & coming talent. With this in mind, they targeted Kemptville 73’s (CCHL) defender Evan Mitchell and secured him for the fall of ’22.
The smooth skating and slick puckahndling 5’11”, 170lbs defender from Kanata (ON) completed his rookie season with the 73’s, after spending the previous two with the Club’s U18AAA program, including a formidable 2018/19 campaign which saw him lead all HEO U18 teams in scoring by a defensemen with 39 points in 44 games.
Mitchell, an ’01, finished the pandemic shortened campaign with 12 points in 56 games played.
