MATTON NAMED ACADEMIC POY

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that Rockland Nationals defenseman Connor Matton has been named the 2018-19 recipient of the Arthur K Nielsen Award as Academic Player of the Year.

The 1998 born Tecumseh, ON native studies at the University of Ottawa, where he majors in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering. Through his studies he was able to pick up strong marks in Technical Report Writing (A+), Engineering Mechanics (A), Calculus II (A+), Fundamentals of Physics II (A), and Fundamentals of Engineering Computation (A). 

As well as being a star in the classroom, he acted as a great role model on defense to rookie teammates David Lafrance and Aidan Hilton. Matton finished the regular season second in scoring among Nationals defensemen with 25 points (5G, 20A) in 59 games of action.
