Class Of 2020: Trevor Poeze

Niagara University freshman Trevor Poeze is one of those “under the radar” accomplished athletes that has pieced together a remarkable hockey resume, yet may not have the same accolades as others, yet that has never been the driving force behind his passion for the game.

A reserved young man from Mississauga (ON), Poeze won back to back ECEL league championships at the 16U & 18U levels with the Hill Academy before signing with the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL. Prior to the start of his rookie season, he was traded to the Kanata Lasers in exchange for their Captain – and he proceeded to embark on a 3 year junior career there.

Injured during the CCHL September Showcase his rookie campaign, he returned to put up respectable numbers (21 Pts in 48 GP) before becoming an offensive dynamo within the league – posting back to back 60+ point seasons (132 Pts in 110 GP). In his final season, this earned him 2nd Team All Star Honours, as well as a chance to participate in the Eastern Canada Cup Challenge as a member of Team Robinson CCHL.
