Mike is a native of Munster, Ontario – having graduated from Brock University with an Honor’s degree in Physical Education. Mike has vast experience in player development, advising, and consultation – having attained his Master Level Coach certification from USA Hockey. He has multiple coaching symposium experience, along with a variety of high profile media events including the inaugural season of CBC’s “Making the Cut”, Powerade & Nike’s “Powerdome Camp”, APTN’s hit television series “Hit The Ice”, and iPlayHockey.ca’s “Video Development Program”. Mike has also participated in the “Right To Play” program, travelling all over Canada into communities helping promote sport as a positive lifestyle intiative.

Mike is also the Director of Coach & Player Development for the Gloucester Rangers Minor Hockey Club. Passionate about his work with an infectious attitude, he is a strong communicator and has international instructional experience in the UK, Italy, Holland, and Slovenia. Mike has worked with over 300 NCAA/Major Junior athletes and dozens of current NHL players – possessing a strong network within the game.

His coaching experience has seen him previously work ten years as an assistant coach at the Jr. A level (Chicago Freeze-NAHL; Wyoming Outlaws-AFHL); a Regional Scout for the USNTDP; a Coaching Coordinator for USA Hockey; Midget (LA Jr. Kings U18AAA; Team Wyoming AA); as well as CIS hockey with the University of Ottawa Gee Gees. His consultation work has seen him work with several NCAA programs, as well as numerous Professional Clubs in Europe. His resume also includes work as a manager with Fox Valley Ice Arena, Huron Hockey Schools and EHK Sports prior to launching ESG. Mike played five years of Jr. hockey in Ontario (Pembroke Lumber Kings, Massena Americans, Thorold Blackhawks, Goulbourn Royals), and two seasons of Sr. A hockey for the Jackson Hole Moose.
